AI: The Saviour or The Evil (Part1)

As you all know that AI stands for Artificial Intelligence and I don't need to tell you about the complete form as from students to professionals everybody is aware of the capabilities of this incredible thing. Still, I am not here to tell you the boring stuff available on the internet and everybody is saying about it. I am here to tell you something unbiased and the facts are real to prove my words.

AI: The Beginning

The pioneers who created this cool stuff say that AI will revolutionize the world. Actually, the journey of AI started in 1956 and scientists were working on it. Alan Turing did the Turing test in which there are 2 humans and a computer kept at a lab and are tested on whether the computer is able to think like the humans or beyond it. Here the computer is supposed to fool another human and the human is tested whether he is able to know or not that the reply or the answer was given by the computer or the human. At this point in time, Scientists knew that someday humans would be replaced by machines.

Frank Rosenblatt, The pioneer psychologist first attempted to start the research for AI in 1957. He created a digital neural network called "Perceptron" Which was used to mimic the human brain. His first task was to scan images of men and women to teach the difference between men and women to the neural network. At that time when the media hyped the fact of "Intelligent Automation".The newspaper created a paragraph that quoted that "The Perceptron was capable enough to walk, talk and reproduce themselves and it was conscious about his existence". But, this hype of neural networks didn't work for him as the neural network had limited resources and at that time the computers had just the simple setup so the neural network failed to work at its peak performance. He only used a single layer of artificial neurons that was limited. Due to a lack of proper computing technologies, the scientists dropped the idea of Artificial Intelligence, and "AI was Dead".

Reincarnation of AI :

After decades of giving up on the idea, a great scientist named Geoffrey Hinton came into play and addressed that everybody was playing wrong with this ai technology. He gave a theory that the human brain is considered a neural network and it is used as an intelligent system to work on different things. This one was enough for him to work on the idea where everyone missed the fact. Artificial neural networks can work but somehow by tweaking and changing the way it was programmed. And, here came the "Father Of AI" called Geoffrey Hinton who would be playing a great role in revolutionizing the world with AI.

Remember his name as he would be playing a great role in our further articles.
